On February 10 the UCSF School of Nursing will present the 2nd Annual Florence Stroud Black History Month Conference from 8 am to 6:30 pm at the UCSF Mission Bay Campus Conference Center. Six continuing education credits are offered.

First Lady Michelle Obama recently announced that more than 100 medical schools have committed to step up training on how to treat PTSD and traumatic brain injury, to increase research for these conditions, and to share new information and best practices. In recognition of Mrs. Obama’s initiative, this year’s program will examine how nurses contribute to the care of veterans. Nanny “Nan” Green, a former UCSF faculty member and a founding member of the UCSF School of Nursing Black Nurses Conference, will receive the 2012 Flo Stroud Award.
